WindSong Church of Christ is seeking a passionate, visionary, and relational Youth Minister to lead and develop our growing youth ministry.

WindSong is served by 12 elders, 14 deacons, a preaching minister, associate minister, children’s minister, and worship and family minister, providing a strong team of leadership and ministry support.

We are looking for someone who will not simply manage a youth program, but will invest deeply in students, build meaningful relationships, dream about what WindSong’s youth ministry can become, and help our teenagers develop a faith that lasts for a lifetime.

The Role

The Youth Minister will serve as a spiritual leader, mentor, teacher, and advocate for the students of WindSong. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching Bible classes and leading devotionals for our teens.
  • Building meaningful, Christ-centered relationships with students and serving as a spiritual mentor in their lives.
  • Developing a visible presence on local high school campuses and participating in chapel opportunities when invited.
  • Organizing and leading camp week, mission trips, youth activities, service projects, and other opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship.
  • Developing new opportunities to engage students, strengthen their faith, and help them discover how God can use their lives.
  • Working closely with the WindSong ministry staff, elders, parents, and volunteers to create a unified and healthy youth ministry. Communication with parents and delegating to parent volunteers is crucial for success in this role.

The Ideal Candidate Is…

Biblically grounded

A Bible-related degree is preferred, but we are ultimately seeking someone with a deep commitment to Scripture and a desire to help students know and follow Jesus.

Relational

Our ideal candidate genuinely enjoys teenagers and understands that effective youth ministry begins with relationships. We want someone who will know our students, invest in them, listen to them, encourage them, and walk alongside them.

Visionary

We are looking for someone who is willing to dream big. We want a minister who can look at the opportunities in front of us, imagine what our youth ministry could become, and then work intentionally to move that vision forward.

Organized and communicative

Youth ministry involves coordinating people, events, calendars, parents, volunteers, and countless details. Strong organizational and communication skills are important to this role.

A team player

The youth minister will work closely with our existing ministry staff and church leadership. We are looking for someone who values collaboration, communicates well, and understands that ministry is most effective when we work together.

Comfortable with diversity

WindSong’s youth ministry includes students from a variety of backgrounds, including our urban outreach efforts. We are looking for someone who can build genuine relationships with and minister effectively to teenagers from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

A Long-Term Opportunity

We are not looking for someone who simply wants to fill a position for a few years. We are looking for someone who wants to put down roots.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary and benefits package (including health insurance) are competitive and negotiable based upon experience and qualifications.
