Bobby came to WindSong to be our Preaching Minister in time for our Grand Opening at our new location in September of 2005. Prior to his arrival in Arkansas, he was Professor of Religion and Philosophy at Amarillo College and the Director of the Amarillo Bible Chair. Before serving the Lord in Amarillo, Bobby was a preacher in Texas, Alaska and Tennessee. He holds two Bachelor’s degrees (one in philosophy and one in Bible) from Freed-Hardeman University, a Master of Ministry degree also from Freed-Hardeman University and is currently pursuing post-graduate work at the University of Wales, Lampeter, where he hopes to earn a Ph.D. He has been married to Michelle, his high school sweetheart, for 20 years and has three grown daughters who reside in the Little Rock area. He and Michelle are excited to be a part of the WindSong family and are expecting great things to be accomplished in the Lord’s name in central Arkansas.

William E. McDonoughWilliam E. "Bill" McDonough

Bill served four years in the USAF during which time he was inspired by missionaries in Asia and Europe to prepare to join their ranks. Completing studies at Lubbock Christian University and the University of Maryland he moved to Germany in 1965 and has been sponsored by the WindSong (Sixth & Izard) congregation since 1969, working in the field of Foreign Missions. He served 20 years in Europe, planting and building up congregations in Bremen, Mannheim and Wiesbaden, Germany and Salzburg, Austria. In 1980 he co founded Partners In Progress, a church planting, humanitarian ministry, that has relieved suffering and shared the saving message of the Master’s hope in 48 nations on four continents. He is presently serving in Cambodia with his wife Marie-Claire. Bill has authored 2 books and is a regular contributor to Christian Periodicals and Missionary Journals. John GipsonJohn Gipson

John Gipson has been preaching since his senior year at Abilene Christian College in 1953. He served several churches in Texas, before becoming the pulpit minister at the Sixth and Izard church (now WindSong) in downtown Little Rock in 1968. John retired from the regular pulpit responsibility in 2000. He was appointed an elder in 1977, and continues to serve in that capacity.

Joe ChesserJoe Chesser

Joe joined our staff as youth minister in 1996, and in 2005 began leading our worship as well. While in college, Joe began part-time youth ministry in Paragould, Arkansas, and after graduation taught High School for a couple of years in New Orleans. Joe holds degrees from Crowley’s Ridge College, Arkansas State University, and Harding University, yet still falls asleep within five minutes of picking up a book. Joe loves to backpack, travel, sing, cook, play for the sake of fun, and wishes he knew more than three chords on his guitar. Having just marked “Watching AFI’s Top 100 Movies” off of his “to do” list, he now plans to go sky diving. Joe’s wife, Sherry, is a C.P.A. at a local firm and they have two boys, Max and Alex. Joe thinks families should slow down and spend more time together doing nothing (except of course when there’s a youth event planned!) and openly and purposefully discuss their faith in the home.

Carol ChesserCarol Chesser

Carol began working as a part-time secretary for Partners In Progress in 1997.  Having been a long-time member of the Sixth and Izard congregation, she was impressed with the work which PIP was doing around the world.  As PIP increased its outreach in Asia, she began working full-time in 2005.  She says her job is a joy because she gets to associate with many wonderful mission-minded people from all over the world.  Carol grew up in Haskell, Arkansas, where she graduated from high school and later did undergraduate work at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  She and her husband, David, live in Maumelle and have two children and two grandsons.

Wilma StevensWilma Stevens

Wilma Stevens has been a member of this congregation since 1952. She taught in the pre-school department for some ten years, and since 1969, has taught a nursery class on Sunday morning. Wilma has taught Teacher Workshops for nursery and pre-school teachers. She has served as receptionist, secretary, office manager and bookkeeper, has printed and mailed the bulletin, and served in other supervisory duties including the Saturday morning children’s television program, benevolence, and plant management. Wilma is an invaluable asset to our congregation and we are grateful for her years of self-less service.
