Connections:

John and Megan Calvillo will arrive in Little Rock from Houston, Texas, on July 22, and will be leave on July 27. It will be good to have them home with us for almost a week.

David Denton, Dawn Denton's husband, will be deployed the end of this week to Camp Shelby, Mississippi, in preparation for his deployment to Iraq at the end of the month. He will probably be in Iraq until January.

Marie-Claire McDonough arrived in Little Rock on Wednesday, July 16. She accompanied Emily Pownall, the WEI teacher who suffered a stroke in Cambodia, back to the United States for further medical treatment. Marie-Claire will later go to Memphis, Tennessee, for some required paper work for her citizenship application and will return to Cambodia on July 30. Bill and Marie-Claire plan to return home again later in August for a few months of fund raising and recruiting.

Congratulations to Renee McCartney and Lance Corporal Matthew Farley, who were married on Sunday, July 6, in Oceanside, California. The couple will be living in Oceanside while Matt is stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. They plan to return in December to renew their vows for family and friends.

Rachel Young was baptized at Camp Caudle by her father on Friday, July 4. Congratulations Rachel.

Thursday, July 3, was E. L. and Lola Biggs' 70th wedding anniversary. Congratulations!

We rejoice that Tim Hall, Frank and Thelma Hall’s son, has returned from Iraq to Ft. Stewart, Georgia. He will be moving soon to an instructor’s position at Ft. Blevoir, Virginia.

John and Megan Calvillo returned from China on June 28. We were happy to have them worship with us again Sunday, June 29. John and Megan will be visiting family in Texas, for several weeks.

Kim Milam on the death of her friend, Jack Rushing, who suffered from cancer and died on Friday, July 11. The funeral was Monday, July 14.

Carl, Gail, and Sarah Anderson on the death of his mother, Iris Anderson, on Thursday, July 10. The funeral was Monday, July 14, with the burial following at Forest Hills Cemetery.

The family of Jean Patton, who died on Saturday, July 5. The funeral was Thursday, July 10, in North Little Rock.

Reba Dobbs on the death of her daughter, Bonita Vines, on Saturday, July 5. The funeral was Thursday, July 10, in North Little Rock.

Prayer Requests:

Kat Brickey, Kim Milam's friend and co-worker, has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Kat has started more chemotherapy and needs our prayers. Her last tests showed progress, but she still has a long period of treatment ahead of her.

Na'ndor and Angela Cse'ti are working in Debrecen, Hungary. Please keep their family and the work in Debrecen in your prayers.

Patrick Dollar, Gwen Hill's cousin, Micah and Tim Hall, Frank & Thelma Hall's sons, and Matt Powell, Harold Powell's nephew, are stationed in Iraq. Please pray for all of our military at home and abroad.

Sullivan Farrar, Karla Wade's one-year-old nephew, is battling leukemia. He has fever and a rash from a cell transplant last Monday. Sullivan has a web site where you can go to check on his condition: caringbridge.org/visit/sullivanbubbyfarrar

Karl and Dora Fisher, Karla Wade's grandparents who live in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, need our prayers as they deal with health problems.

Mark Gober, a member of the Northside congregation in Benton, is in the Arkansas Heart Hospital, Room 345, on a ventilator and is septic. He is a young man, married with children and is active in the church. He was responsive for the first time on Monday night, July 7. Mark is a friend of Sandy Dodson, Ola McLaughlin's niece, and she asks for our continued prayers.

Shirley Greenwalt, a friend of Dale and Marcia Tucker from Springfield, Illinois, has been diagnosed with colon cancer. She has finished her chemotherapy and radiation treatment and is at home and doing well.

Gary Hull, Nick Katchur’s brother-in-law in New Jersey, has cancer that has spread to his brain and he needs our prayers.

Elizabeth Katchur is in Baptist Hospital (NLR), Room 145, following successful hip surgery on Friday, July 11.

Larry Lindsey, Mary Beth Crafton's brother and Vivian Lindsey's son, has had a recurrence of his cancer and needs our prayers.

Ona Magar, Linda Powell’s mother, has moved to Wildflower Assisted Living facility in Russellville, Arkansas.

Bill McDonough is now back in Cambodia. Please continue to pray for the work on the clinic boat, "The Ship of Life," which is sailing up and down the Mekong River. Please pray also for all the work in Cambodia: the teaching programs, new Christians, new church leaders, and new congregations; the medical programs; the rice coop and nutritional programs; the orphanage and school uniforms program; and the clean water and irrigation programs.

Angela Parker, Joann Casteel's daughter, will be having extensive tests made the week of July 21, including a bone marrow biopsy. Please keep Angela in your prayers as her doctors try to determine the cause of her severe health problems.

Emily Pownall (85-years-old), who taught World English Institute materials daily to students at the PIP house in Phnom Penh, had a blood clot in her brain that affected her vision and also suffered a stroke. She returned home to the states with Marie-Claire McDonough on Wednesday, July 16.

John Rogers is in St. Vincent Hospital, Room 4065, following successful knee replacement surgery on Thursday, July 17.

Annette Sturm, Dale Tucker's sister, had successful knee surgery in Parkersburg, West Virginia. She developed pneumonia which is under control, but she remains in the hospital for rehab.

Kathy Turney, Seth Wade’s aunt in Kansas City, Missouri, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Melanie Valentine, Dale Tucker's niece from Cambridge, Ohio, has a possible match for a kidney transplant and is in the hospital undergoing tests.

Josh Wade will have out-patient surgery to remove his tonsils after he returns from a two week vacation in Pennsylvania.

Ellen Walker is in Tirana, Albania. Please keep Ellen and the work in Albania in your prayers.
